I am pleased to announce the new CAPI® Signature Control Knob! Since I will no longer be selling the Vemaline Knobs, I felt it was time to hit the design bench. After a number of hours digging deep on the interwebs...rubbing the CAD genie...the CAPI® knob was born. Elegant, classy, comfortable, clean and most of all...unique! I have never seen a control knob quite like this one! Once I had settled on the final profiles, I contacted the fine folks at Vemaline. Yes, the very same Vemaline from back in the 1950's. They are still in business today and in fact are the ones who supplied me with the previous control knobs. The owner and I had talked about my own custom knob a few years ago so he was not completely surprised when he heard about this new adventure. He offered to manufacture prototypes of all five sizes for me to look at and touch, before committing to extrusion dies. The cost for the tooling and initial "push" of material is quite an investment. 500 lb's of aluminum is the minimum run for each profile! That's a whole bunch of knobs! I must add, everything related to the CAPI® Signature Control Knob is made in the USA. I could have went to Asia like many others, but have a strong allegiance to the American workforce. I am proud to fly the "Made in the USA" flag on this product page. The startup is a very long process. From design, to prototypes, to extrusion dies, to finish product is a approximately 3-4 months. That said, fingers are crossed that I am able to have the first of the knobs in stock sometime in November. Continuing in design mode, I reworked all of the faceplates. All of my old faceplate stock is at my screen printers getting painted and new artwork applied. The plan is for me to get them back around mid September. Sadly, until that time, full module kits will not be available.
