The gar918 DOA PCB is the printed circuit board only, that is required to complete the gar918 Discrete Operational Amplifier build. This board has been created by Gary Barnett of Barnett Industries. This DOA is a nine transistor amplifier modeled after the legendary JE-918 which was designed by Deane Jensen. The JE-918 was the predecessor to the JE-990. Sonically speaking, Gary describes these as a little less mid forward than a 2520 while making the low mids more "open". Describing sonics can be very difficult but I think folks will find these noticeably different than our other offerings while still being very useful complimentary tools. Some of the applications the gar918 DOA can be used for: Microphone Preamplifiers Line or Booster Amplifiers Lossless Combining Amplifiers Balanced Transformerless Amplifiers Equalizers and Compressors Additional features and specs: Industry standard 2520 footprint for plug-in or PC mount connections Low noise, high power output Low distortion Minimum load impedance is 75 ohms for full output voltage Power supply voltage is bi-polar +/- 12 VDC to +/- 20 VDC It should be noted that all 9 transistors are currently in production and easily obtainable gar918 Full Kit Bundles including the PCB, are also available ***Please note: This item is a raw, unpopulated PCB only.
