The BOM's shown in the VP2x Assembly Guide are not to be used for the new black PCB's. If you do not follow the newer BOM's, you will end up with a non-functioning preamp. ***PLEASE NOTE: Although the original 553F assembly aid was written with the Rev A in mind, it is still overall very relevant and recommended reading for the Rev B kit. Just keep in mind that the receiver amp section is different and there is no longer any calibration required. Honestly, if you can't use the Rev A doc and the new BOMs to get thru this easy build…maybe DIY is not for you. No offense intended.

2-Stage Line Amp PCB Back to Top
The 2-Stage Line Amp card needs a CMRR adjustment to function properly. Conceptually, the common mode adjustment is identical to that of the ML2, 553F or LC53A. The incoming single ended sine wave will need to go thru a pair of 0.1% precision R's and then into the 1st stage input. These R's can be anywhere from 750R to 1k. The place to monitor the signal level is the negative end of C9. The trimmer to adjust is RV2. Please use the following ML CMRR adjustment pdf to give you the gist.
