A few years ago, I bought a handful of AM-27 mic pre cards off of eBay. I asked Scott if he would be up for doing a 1731. He rose to the challenge and created the SL-1731. For those who do not know it, many of the engineers responsible for the 1731 joined forces with Saul Walker when he started API. The starting point for the famous API 2520 was indeed the 1731. Back to the beginning guess one could say! The SL-1731 sounds incredible in all of our modules but really shines in ACA summing applications. SL-1731's are purposely unpotted for better heat dissipation and to allow repairs if ever needed.
