I built a VP312 directly after my VP28. The 312 is the same quality as the vp28 and is a single stage preamp using high quality components. It has more top end and low-lows coming through than the vp28 to my ears. If you want the same general tone ever so slightly more bottom and more top end with better transients coming through, try one of these. I plan to have 8 of the VP312 and 8 of the VP28. Amazing equipment here!
